Psalm 96 Ministries
Mercy Ministry
"The ministry of mercy is a necessary part of the calling of Christ's church. The miracles of Christ, as signs of the kingdom, show us that the ministry of the church must be in deeds of mercy as well as in proclamation of the gospel. The ministry of Christ's disciples and of the apostolic church confirm this."

Mercy Fund
With so much physical poverty in the area, it can be important to focus on physical needs as well as spiritual needs. Psalm 96 Ministries seeks to create opportunities for locals to earn a living without developing a pattern of dependency on outside help. The Mercy Fund run by the church in Pichiyacu is self-supporting and requires no outside funding. By the grace of God, believers have become generous with their resources, pooling them together to give to the most needy in the village - generally the elderly, the handicapped, and the sick.
Financial Counseling
Before we can give counsel, people must see us as trustworthy and in no way desiring to take advantage of them. As we show that we can live among the people and adopt a similar lifestyle, we hope to be able to identify with them and influence their decision in a more God-centered direction. Any help provided will be based on Biblical principles and insight. (We find that Crown Financial Ministries provides excellent resources.)
